This page recognises the best distances walked by athletes in their ‘home’* country.
* Different countries and different sports have different definitions of what qualifies as a ‘residents record’. For the purposes of this website, an athlete must have lived in the country for 70% of the previous 12 months. For example, to qualify for an Australian residents record, the athlete does not have to have been born in Australia, or be an Australian citizen, but must have resided in Australia for at least 70% of the 12 months immediately prior to the race in which they set the record distance.
Where records are listed as ‘vacant’, this means that one or more walkers have participated in a six-day race in that country but no resident of that country is known to have walked in a six-day race in their own country.
All distances are in kilometres.
